Jesus

This is not really a definition entry.  I can't really be academic about Jesus.

Jesus means everything to me! He is my Savior and Redeemer who I can always count on to rescue "me" from myself when I am my worst and lift me up when I am down. He is my standard for everything.

I love the Savior and I love to sing about him!

"I'm trying to be like Jesus."  He is the example I follow in all I do.

"I know that My Savior Loves Me." and "I feel my Savior's love."  I have felt His love.

"Where Can I Turn for Peace?"   I have felt his comfort and peace.

The hymn "I Stand All Amazed" reminds me that He loves us unconditionally - imperfect as we are.

"Amazing Grace" reminds me that His love transforms us.

"The Lord is My Light" reminds me that following Him brings me joy.

I even enjoy singing old gospel songs about him.

With The Statler Brothers I like to sing:

He said he'd meet me in the morning.
In the sweet still shadows of his love.
He said he'd meet me in the morning
In the warm soft goodness of his love.

Souls in danger look up above
Jesus completely saves.
He will lift you by his love
Out of the angry waves.
Love so mighty and so true
Merits my soul's best songs.
Faithful, loving service too
To him belongs.
Love lifted me.
Love lifted me.
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me.

With Elvis I sing:

Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on through the light
Take my hand, precious Lord
And lead me home.

We call on him when no one else will answer.
We asked of him a reason to go on.
When our cup of joy becomes a cup of sorrow
Filled to the brim, we call on Him.

My dad taught me this one:

I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses.
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
And He walks with me and He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own.
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None of the other has ever known.
